Reading Room:

The Central Library of the college has well-equipped and spacious reading room facilities with a seating capacity of 50 (fifty). Reference books, periodicals and current awareness materials are issued for the reading room only.

Career Guidance Books:

Books and journals relating to different competitive examinations, career/service oriented programmes and other documents in this context are available for consultation in the Reading Room.

General Reference Section:

The Ready-Reference Tools relating to general reference consultation are available in this section in the Reading Room. The following categories of Ready Reference Tools are generally available:

  • Dictionary
  • Encyclopedia
  • Year book
  • Almanac
  • Handbook
  • Directory
  • Guide book etc

Reprography Services:

The reprographic facilities are available in the Central Library for the students and teachers and other staff members. All the computers with Internet facilities are connected directly to the photocopy machine for taking print out of any on-line and also of off-line materials.

 On-line Database Search:

Web-OPAC is used for on-line database search.

Off-line Database Search:

CD-ROM databases are available for use. A good number of CDs/ DVDs are available for Reading Room reference.

New Arrivals Display:

The newly added resources to library (books, journals, CDs etc.) are displayed for the convenience of students, teachers and other staff members so that they could be aware of the updated library collection. Any newly added item is set aside for exhibition for at least seven days.

Book Requisition and Reservation:

Students, teachers and other staff members can place requisition for a book that is not available in the library. The requisition should be given in the Demand Book with the concerned library staff. Also, users can reserve a particular book through reservation slip available from Lending Counters. They are informed over the phone after the reserved document returns to the shelf.

Searching On-line Journals through INFLIBNET:

We are privileged to be enlisted in the scholarly e-resource consortia (N-LIST) hosted by the Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) under the University Grants Commission. As an authorized user under NLIST programme we have access to 6000+ e-journals and 97000+ e-books covering all major areas of science, social science and humanities which are accessible from the Central Library through E-Resource Access Centre.

Documents related to Local History and the Life of Andrews :

The library of the college has a collection of books on the local history of South 24 Paraganas  and  the Sundarbans and also books on Dinabandhu Andrews after whom the college is named.

Other Important Services:

The college library has institutional membership of the British Council Library, Kolkata. The visually impaired students of the college can use the Braille Library of the Blind Boys’ Academy,Ramakrishna Mission, Narendrapur, Kolkata, by a special arrangement made with it.
